The profound evolution of this sport has led to a specialisation which ranges from horse breeding to teaching and training methods adapted to each modality, from vaulting to dressage, from showjumping to horse racing, from polo to horseball, without forgetting raids and threeday event harness racing bull-fighting, etc. The practice of these modalities is only possible with the necessary infrastructures to the needs of accommodation, care and training of horses and horseman. That was the reason which led to the creation of the Country Club D. Carlos I, later called Horse Riding Centre of Quinta da Marinha, a full potential facility which is a secure reference of quality in the context of horse riding sports in Portugal.
